Acceptable Living - 2 ©
Life seems to toss cheap shots at us some times but I think that we are so caught up in our own little world and our stresses it is not a cheap shot but a door that we let get cracked open. We can not blame another for what we are going through when it is our situation that is coming at us. It is not the gas company's fault that we have no heat. It is not the grocery store's fault that we do not have a loaf of bread. Fault can not be laid to blame on others when we are in control of our environment and our surroundings. We fault too many people and things, visible or not, when all we have to do is change. Change is not easy, nor is it something everyone can do overnight yet it can be done and should be written out so as to get a better picture of where we need to make changes and to track our progress. I know many of you who read this are probably throwing stones and words around and I sorta expected that. Someone once told me that "until you get angry change usually does not happen!" While I am not talking about anger that does dumb things but rather, an emotion that moves you to making changes for your betterment. We have far too long looked to the government, world, and others and when we can no longer get any help or less than that what had been getting get upset and put the blame on that instead of seeing what we can do to, on our own, to make the necessary changes. Life is not set in stone nor is it cut and dried, when we can gain the upper hand by making positive decisions and move on them. Complaining and worrying take more energy from you draining you till you feel depressed and hopeless. Positive changes are not always done in a moment or suddenly, each take time and determination. I will take it one step further, you need a mentor or support group that will help, encourage, listen, and keep you feet on solid ground. Being with people who have nothing good to say, always joking, talking more than listening, each thing is more negative and corrosive, leaving you feeling like a balloon that has just been popped. Life has so much to offer, unlimited and hopeful to say the least. To make any change, you have to want them! If you do not want them, you can not take another step into getting out or away from what it is that is hurting or limiting you. If for example, you can not afford to purchase clothes, learn to sew and make your own clothes. Take your focus off of what you do not have and what a change like this will have on your life and financial position. If you got good enough in making your own clothes you could sew for others or do alteration, banners, and more. Think of each situation as a way to not only improve your current living arrangements, better them or even make a pathway for an opportunity. Do not stay in your current place in life, look at the bright side of things and see if I do something different will it help me or hinder? Going up moves you forward, staying where you are at leads to more than just worry, stress and late payments. Your open door is only one step forward, will you choose to take it, no matter what your circumstances and brain tell you?
